The Jagiellonian University Medicine Entrance Exam at a glance

Checked against Jagiellonian University Medical College's own published rules. Where something isn't published yet, we say so rather than guess.

Location
Kraków Campus, Poland
Registration deadline
Not yet published2027/28 not yet published. For 2026/27 the online application system ran from 23 February to 29 April 2026
Test duration
180 minutesNo per-section timing is published: the whole paper runs as one 180-minute block, an average of 1.8 minutes per question.
Number of questions
100
Answer options
5 (A–E), exactly one correctSome items are true/false-style: five statements are given and exactly one of them is true.
Tested areas
Four: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Logic, Ethics
Questions per area
Not yet publishedNot published. JUMC names the four tested areas but has never published a per-subject question count or weighting, re-checked directly on the Entrance examination description and Examination material scope pages on 28 September 2026. Do not assume an even 25/25/25/25 split.
Scoring
Not yet publishedNot published. Four official JUMC pages and the Senate's recruitment rules were opened on 28 September 2026 for this specific question and none states whether a wrong answer scores zero or carries a deduction. IvyTest carries +1 correct / 0 incorrect / 0 blank as the neutral assumption; see the scoring section.
Minimum eligible score
Set by the Rector each cycle: 40 of 100 in 2025Under the Senate's recruitment rules the Rector sets a minimum result for each programme by the day the first ranking list is published, and a candidate below it is refused even if places remain. Jagiellonian University's admission statistics give it for Medicine in English as 57 (2023), 61 (2024) and 40 (2025).
Delivery
Online (remote), entirely in English, for the 2026/27 cycleJUMC's published pages say nothing about calculators, so the calculator rule is unconfirmed; the details of each online session go only to confirmed registrants.
Places available
120 on the Medicine in English programmeThe number the recruitment portal offered for 2026/27, matching the Minister of Health's 2026/27 limit. The Senate's recruitment rules set an upper limit of 130 for 2026/27 and 120 for 2027/28, with 40 as the minimum to run.

Entrance examination
Not yet published2027/28 exam date not yet published. The 2026/27 exam was a single online session on 23 May 2026 at 16:00 CEST, with the details sent only to confirmed registrants
Ranking list published
Not yet published2027/28 not yet published; the 2026/27 ranking list was announced on 1 June 2026, and admission follows directly from position on the 0–100 ranking list
Enrolment deadline
Not yet published2027/28 not yet published. In 2026/27 the first enrolment round ran 8 June to 21 July 2026, and waiting-list rounds (23 July to 19 August, 21 August to 11 September) opened only if places remained

How it's scored

Result scale
0 to 100; JUMC states the ranking list is ordered on a final result expressed as a number on this scale
Number of questions
100, officially published
Correct answer
Not yet publishedNot published. Exactly 100 questions and a stated 0–100 result scale is what one mark per question produces, so IvyTest assesses +1 per correct answer as likely, but JUMC has never stated a per-item mark, and the guide does not present the inference as a rule.
Incorrect answer
Not yet publishedNot published on any official page checked. IvyTest carries 0 as the neutral assumption: a paper that does penalise guessing still ranks candidates sensibly when scored as a straight percentage, whereas inventing a penalty would change what a candidate should do on every question they are unsure of.
Unanswered question
Not yet publishedNot published; assessed as 0 on the same reasoning as an incorrect answer
Answer format
Five options A–E, exactly one correct, including on true/false-style items, which are written as five statements of which exactly one is true
Minimum eligible score
Set by the Rector for each cycle, no later than the day the first ranking list is published (Senate Resolution 58/VI/2025, §9(4)), and the same in every round. Jagiellonian University's admission statistics give 57 (2023), 61 (2024) and 40 (2025) points of 100 for Medicine in English. Above it, admission is by rank order on the 0–100 result.
Per-subject floors
None: Poland has no equivalent of the Italian per-subject OFA floor, and JUMC publishes no per-area minimum of its own
Per-area weighting
Not yet publishedNot published; see the exam format section. This is the single largest gap in what JUMC discloses about its own paper.
Tie-break order
Not yet publishedNot published; JUMC states the ranking rule but no procedure for candidates who finish on the same result
