Overview

What is the UAX Medicine admission test?

Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio admits to its Grado en Medicina on a composite mark out of 10, and the written science test is only one piece of it. The official Guía de Admisión sets the weighting explicitly: 70% your academic record from the first year of Bachillerato, 20% the prueba específica de Biología y Química, 5% a competence test (the TCAP, estimated at 60 minutes) and 5% a language test (estimated at 30 minutes). Understanding that split before you start revising matters more than any single fact about the paper, because it tells you exactly how much the science test can move.

The prueba específica itself is short. UAX describes it as a 'Test online supervisado' (an online proctored test taken through the UAX Admissions Portal) with an estimated duration of 30 minutes, sat in Spanish and added on top of the general admission tests. Those general tests, the competence and language papers, take around an hour and a half between them and may be taken online or in person at the Villanueva de la Cañada or Chamberí campus. UAX's own Medicine page puts the specific test at 50 multiple-choice questions, 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry. UAX publishes no exam dates: the general tests run Monday to Friday at 10:00 and 16:00 (or online, booked 48 hours ahead), and the Medicine specific test is held on set Saturdays that UAX does not publish, so the date is agreed with UAX Admisiones. Medicine places are allocated by ranking, with the definitive list published on 31 July.

Both the degree and the test are in Spanish. Candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish sit a Spanish language test in place of the English one, worth 5% of the admission mark; the 2026/27 Guía sets no minimum Spanish level for Medicine, where the 2025/26 edition required B1, so a working command of Spanish is what the test itself demands. The IvyTest study guide and simulator questions for UAX are in Spanish too; on this page, the official content headings below are reproduced in Spanish exactly as UAX publishes them, each with an English translation.

UAX now lists Medicine on two campuses. Its Medicine page names Villanueva de la Cañada and Oviedo, and its Oviedo page says the Grado en Medicina is to be taught at the Centro Universitario Alfonso X el Sabio Asturias, attached to UAX by Decreto 110/2025 of the Principado de Asturias, from 2026/27. That page still calls the degree 'en proceso de modificación', but the Ministry's register of the degree (RUCT) records the modification as in effect from 18 June 2026, with 120 first-year places in Oviedo and 240 in Madrid. The Oviedo page describes the same specific test, 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions followed by a personal interview, and publishes no fee.

The weighting, duration, delivery mode and content headings on this page come from the current official Guía de Admisión de Grados for curso académico 2026/27, re-read in full on 10 October 2026; no 2027/28 edition was published that day. The question count comes from UAX's own Grado en Medicina pages for Madrid and Oviedo. The option count, marking scheme and any minimum score are in neither the Guía nor uax.com's Medicine and admission pages, all checked the same day. IvyTest updates this guide when UAX publishes them.

Structure

UAX Admission Test format

The prueba específica is the shortest written admission test in IvyTest's catalogue: an estimated 30 minutes, sat online under proctoring, in Spanish, on top of the general admission tests. The Guía publishes the content headings and the duration, and UAX's Medicine programme page gives the count: 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions. The general tests that carry the remaining 10% of the admission mark are listed alongside for completeness.

Content

Question and subject breakdown

The prueba específica covers two subjects and only two. The Guía publishes their content headings, and UAX's Medicine programme page gives the split: 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions.

Biology

30 of 50 questions

Ten official content headings, and the broader of the two subjects. They run from the characteristics of living things and the molecular basis of life, through cell organisation and cell physiology, histology, genetics and evolution, biodiversity and animal function, to microorganisms and immunology. Notably, histology gets a heading of its own: many comparable Spanish syllabuses fold it into cell biology.

Chemistry

20 of 50 questions

Five official content headings: scientific practice, the quantitative side of chemistry, chemical reactions, energy changes and spontaneity, and carbon chemistry. There is a real gap worth planning around: UAX's official list carries no heading at all for atomic structure, the periodic table or chemical bonding, even though items on those topics plainly support the headings that are listed.

Marks

UAX Admission Test scoring

UAX publishes its admission weighting in full and publishes nothing at all about how the specific test itself is marked. That asymmetry should shape how you read this section: the weighting arithmetic below is solid and worth internalising, while the marking rules are working assumptions flagged as such.

Admission mark scale
0 to 10 points, per the Guía's weighting for Medicina and Veterinaria
Prior academic record
70% (the expediente académico from the first year of Bachillerato)
Prueba específica de Biología y Química
20%, so at most 2.00 of the 10 admission points
Prueba competencial TCAP©
5% (estimated 60 minutes)
Prueba de idioma
5% (estimated 30 minutes)
Bonus points
0.5 additional points for students and former students of the Centro de Formación Profesional Alfonso X el Sabio, candidates with a sibling currently studying at UAX, and children of UAX employees
Correct answer
Not published. IvyTest records +1 as the neutral working assumption; UAX states no marking rule
Incorrect answer
Not published, confirmed absent from both Guía editions and the live uax.com pages on 28 September 2026. Whether guessing is penalised is genuinely unknown
Unanswered question
Not published
Minimum eligible score
None published for the specific test or for the overall admission mark
Per-subject floors
None: Spain has no counterpart to the Italian OFA additional learning requirement, and UAX publishes no per-subject minimum
Reserve questions
None: the Guía de Admisión does not mention reserve or replacement items
Spanish requirement
Candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish sit a Spanish test (5% of the mark); the 2026/27 Guía sets no minimum level for Medicine, where the 2025/26 edition required B1

Worked example

Work the weighting first, because it is the confirmed part. Take a candidate with an 8.5/10 first-year Bachillerato record who scores 7.0/10 on the specific test, 8.0/10 on the TCAP and 9.0/10 on the language test. The admission mark is (0.70 × 8.5) + (0.20 × 7.0) + (0.05 × 8.0) + (0.05 × 9.0) = 5.95 + 1.40 + 0.40 + 0.45 = 8.20 out of 10. Now raise only the specific test, from 7.0 to 9.0. The mark becomes 8.60, a gain of 0.40 admission points. State that in all three units so none of them gets relabelled as another: it is +2.0 points on the test's own 0-10 scale, it is +20 percentage points of accuracy on the test, and it is +0.40 points on the 0-10 admission mark. Per question, use the 50 questions UAX's Medicine page states (an older unofficial claim said 25, so both readings are shown). At 50 questions, each correct answer is worth 10/50 = 0.20 test points, or 0.20 × 0.20 = 0.04 admission points, meaning one full grade point on your Bachillerato average (worth 0.70 admission points) is worth the same as 17.5 extra correct answers, which is 35 percentage points of accuracy. If the test is instead 25 questions, each answer is worth 0.08 admission points and that same Bachillerato point equals 8.75 answers, or 35 percentage points of accuracy again. Either way the academic record dominates, and either way the accuracy figure is the stable one. On guessing: if the paper runs four options with no penalty (both assumptions, not UAX rules), a blind guess returns (1/4 × 1) + (3/4 × 0) = +0.25 of a mark against 0 for a blank, which is about 0.01 admission points per guess under the 50-question reading. Small, but with roughly 36 seconds per question under that same reading there will be items you cannot finish properly, and an empty box is the one outcome guaranteed to be worth nothing.

The IvyTest simulator scores every practice paper against these exact rules.

Syllabus

Full UAX Admission Test syllabus

UAX publishes its content headings on page 10 of the Guía de Admisión (ten for Biology, five for Chemistry) and those Spanish headings are the authoritative statement of scope. They are reproduced below exactly as UAX writes them, each with an English translation and an expansion of what a Bachillerato-level candidate should expect behind it. The expansions are IvyTest preparation copy, not official UAX wording; the test itself is set and sat entirely in Spanish.

Reproduced in the order the Guía lists them. Note that histology has a heading of its own, separate from cell organisation and cell physiology.

  • «Los seres vivos: composición y función» (Living things: composition and function): the characteristics of living things (organisation, metabolism, homeostasis, response to stimuli, reproduction and evolution), the levels of biological organisation from molecule to organism, autotrophs and heterotrophs, nutrition and energy flow, and the role of water, mineral salts and pH in biological function
  • «La base molecular y fisicoquímica de la vida» (The molecular and physicochemical basis of life): carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids, weak interactions in aqueous media, enzymes (active site, specificity, activation energy, the effect of pH and temperature, inhibition), ATP and energy transfer, catabolism and anabolism, the structure of DNA and RNA, nucleotides and base complementarity
  • «La organización celular» (Cellular organisation): prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, animal and plant cells, membrane structure, diffusion, osmosis, facilitated diffusion and active transport, endocytosis and exocytosis, the organelles (nucleus, ribosomes, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, peroxisomes and chloroplasts), and cell specialisation and communication
  • «La célula viva: morfología, estructura y fisiología celular» (The living cell: cell morphology, structure and physiology): the cell cycle and its checkpoints, mitosis and meiosis, cellular respiration through glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain, fermentation, photosynthesis with its light-dependent phase and the Calvin cycle, protein synthesis by transcription and translation, and the genetic code
  • «Histología» (Histology): epithelial, connective, muscle and nervous tissue, blood, bone, cartilage, adipose tissue and the extracellular matrix, the differences between skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle, neuron structure, glial cells and the synapse
  • «Genética y evolución» (Genetics and evolution): Mendelian genetics, dominance and recessiveness, genotype and phenotype, Punnett squares, sex-linked inheritance, codominance and incomplete dominance, pedigrees, types of mutation and their consequences, genetic variability, natural selection, adaptation, speciation and the evidence for evolution
  • «Biodiversidad» (Biodiversity): the classification of bacteria, archaea, protists, fungi, plants and animals, the taxonomic hierarchy and binomial nomenclature, species richness, ecosystems and conservation, and the basic differences between the major kingdoms and domains
  • «Los animales: sus funciones y adaptaciones al medio» (Animals: their functions and adaptations to the environment): nutrition, digestion and absorption, respiration and gas exchange, circulation, excretion and renal function, nervous and endocrine coordination, homeostasis and feedback, reproduction, development, and adaptation to the environment
  • «El mundo de los microorganismos y sus aplicaciones» (The world of microorganisms and their applications): bacterial structure, binary fission, plasmids and antibiotics, virus structure, host specificity and replication cycles, fungi and protozoa, the microbiota against pathogens, and biotechnological applications including fermentation, antibiotics, vaccines, PCR and basic genetic engineering
  • «La autodefensa de los organismos: la inmunología y sus aplicaciones» (Self-defence in organisms: immunology and its applications): innate and adaptive immunity, barriers, inflammation and phagocytosis, B and T lymphocytes, antigens and antibodies, vaccination, immunological memory and herd immunity, allergy, autoimmune disease and immunodeficiency

Five headings only, and one real gap: UAX's list carries nothing on atomic structure, the periodic table or chemical bonding, although items on those topics plainly support the headings that are listed. Revise them as support for the official headings rather than as a sixth topic area of their own.

  • «La actividad científica» (Scientific practice): units, conversions, significant figures and scientific notation, variables and controls, interpreting data and graphs, experimental error, accuracy against precision, basic laboratory safety, and identifying the data, the unknowns and the equations a problem actually needs
  • «Aspectos cuantitativos de la química» (Quantitative aspects of chemistry): the concept of the mole, Avogadro's constant and molar mass, empirical and molecular formulas, percentage composition, stoichiometry, limiting reagent and percentage yield, solutions, concentration, molarity and dilutions, and basic gas calculations
  • «Reacciones químicas» (Chemical reactions): balancing equations and classifying reactions, acid-base reactions, pH, neutralisation and salts, oxidation-reduction reactions and oxidation numbers, precipitation, solubility and simple ionic equations
  • «Transformaciones energéticas y espontaneidad» (Energy transformations and spontaneity): exothermic and endothermic processes, enthalpy changes, activation energy and catalysts, entropy and qualitative spontaneity, Gibbs free energy and the criterion for spontaneity, and the basics of reaction rate
  • «Química del carbono» (Carbon chemistry): the bonding of carbon, chains, rings and isomerism, hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatics), functional groups (alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, amines and amides), basic organic reactions including combustion, addition, substitution and esterification, and organic molecules of biological importance such as amino acids, sugars, fatty acids and nitrogenous bases

Difficulty

How difficult is the UAX Admission Test?

The science on this test is Bachillerato-level and the syllabus is short. What makes UAX admission difficult to plan for is structural: the test carries a fifth of the mark, it is over in half an hour, and several of the things you would normally want to know about a paper are not published.

The test is 20% of the mark; your school record is 70%

The Guía sets the weighting explicitly, and it is lopsided. The prueba específica can contribute at most 2.00 of the 10 admission points, while the first-year Bachillerato record contributes up to 7.00. That does not make the test unimportant (it is the largest piece still within your control), but it does mean a candidate should size the effort realistically: one full grade point of academic record is worth as much as roughly 35 percentage points of accuracy on the science test.

Fifty questions in thirty minutes

UAX's Guía gives the duration ('Duración estimada 30'') and its Medicine page the count: 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions. That is 36 seconds per item, which is aggressive. Prepare for recall that has to be instant rather than reconstructed, because that is what the pace punishes; an older unofficial claim of 25 questions would have allowed 72 seconds, and is not a UAX figure.

The official Chemistry list has a hole in it

There is no heading for atomic structure, the periodic table or chemical bonding anywhere in UAX's five Chemistry headings, even though questions on quantitative chemistry, reactions and carbon chemistry all lean on them. Treat that material as the foundation underneath the listed headings rather than as absent from the test, and do not expect a question that announces itself as a bonding question.

It is in Spanish, and reading speed counts

The Grado en Medicina and the prueba específica are both delivered in Spanish. The 2026/27 Guía no longer states a minimum level for Medicine (the 2025/26 edition required B1), but candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish sit a Spanish language test worth 5% of the mark. Under 36-second-per-question pressure, reading speed in Spanish is not a separate skill from the science: a candidate who knows the biology but reads the stem slowly loses marks that look like knowledge gaps.

No published exam date to plan around

UAX publishes no exam dates: the general tests run Monday to Friday, the Medicine specific test on set Saturdays that UAX does not publish, and Medicine places are allocated by ranking with the definitive list on 31 July. So the date has to be agreed with UAX Admisiones rather than read off a calendar, and there is no published cut-off to benchmark against: UAX publishes no minimum score for the test or for the overall admission mark, confirmed absent from both Guía editions and the live uax.com pages.

Benchmarks

What is a good UAX Admission Test score?

UAX publishes no minimum score, no cut-off and no applicant volume, and IvyTest confirmed on 28 September 2026 that all three are absent from the current Guía, the previous edition, and uax.com's Medicine, admission-process and general FAQ pages. What is published is the weighting and the number of places.

The current Guía names 170 minimum places on the Bachillerato route, plus up to 10 on other routes, which is a genuinely useful anchor: it is more than most private Spanish medical programmes publish. UAX's own Medicine page gives a different figure, 240 new-entry places, the number the Ministry's register of the degree (RUCT) also records for Madrid; the Guía does not say how its 170 minimum relates to it. It is not, however, a cut-off: UAX does not say how many candidates compete for those places or what admission mark has historically secured one, so treat any percentage quoted elsewhere as an estimate rather than a university figure.

Because the admission mark is a weighted composite, the most informative preparation exercise is to compute your own mark with your actual academic record substituted in, and then see how far the science test can move it. A candidate with a 9.0 record and a candidate with a 7.0 record are running very different races, and the specific test means something different in each: 0.40 admission points of upside either way, but from very different starting positions. Track accuracy by heading on the fifteen published topics rather than chasing a single score, since no published scale exists to convert that score onto.

Pending verification

  • · The 50-question count in the Guía itself (it appears only on UAX's Medicine programme page)
  • · Options per question and the marking scheme, including whether wrong answers are penalised
  • · Any minimum eligible score for the specific test or the overall admission mark
  • · Historical admission marks that secured a place, and applicant volume against the 170 places in the Guía (240 on the programme page)
  • · Whether calculators are permitted (the Guía says nothing either way)

These specific numbers aren't public yet — an IvyTest simulator score is the closest benchmark you can get today.

How to prepare for the UAX Admission Test

12+ weeks

Learn fifteen headings cold, in Spanish

Full coverage of the ten Biology and five Chemistry headings, with reading speed built in.

  • Start by computing your own admission mark with the real weighting (70% record, 20% specific test, 5% TCAP, 5% language), so you know from week one how much upside the science test actually carries for you.
  • Work every heading in Spanish, not in translation. The test is sat in Spanish, and terminology you have only ever met in English costs seconds you do not have under a 30-minute limit.
  • Fill the Chemistry gap deliberately: atomic structure, the periodic table and bonding have no heading of their own but underpin the quantitative, reaction and carbon-chemistry headings that do. Revise them as foundation, not as a separate topic.
  • Do not neglect the other 10%. The TCAP competence test and the language test are each worth 5% (together, a quarter of what the science test is worth), and both are short enough to prepare for in a handful of sessions.
8 weeks

Biology-weighted, with quantitative chemistry drilled by hand

Coverage matched to the wider Biology heading list.

  • Weight time towards Biology (ten headings against Chemistry's five, and 30 of the 50 questions), while keeping Chemistry alive weekly rather than leaving it to the end.
  • Drill the quantitative chemistry by hand: moles, molar mass, percentage composition, stoichiometry, limiting reagent, molarity and dilutions. UAX says nothing about calculators either way, so assume you will not have one.
  • Practise at the real pace of about 36 seconds per question, so that pace is never the reason a known answer goes unmarked.
  • Write your own one-page summary per heading in Spanish. Fifteen pages is the whole examinable syllabus, which is a rare luxury and worth exploiting.
4 weeks

Speed and recall on a short syllabus

Timed retrieval across all fifteen headings.

  • Run short timed sets daily rather than long papers: the real test is 30 minutes, so 10-minute retrieval blocks map onto it better than a two-hour mock.
  • Cycle all fifteen headings each week. With a syllabus this short, complete coverage every week is achievable and is worth more than depth on any one heading.
  • Rehearse the online proctored setup through the UAX Admissions Portal before the day, and remember the specific test takes an estimated 30 minutes on top of the general admission tests.
  • Answer every question. Since UAX publishes no marking rule, the safest assumption is the common one (no penalty for a wrong answer), under which a blank is the only outcome that is certainly worth nothing.
Under 4 weeks

Ask for your Saturday early, then triage

Triage across fifteen headings, once UAX Admisiones has given you the date of your specific test.

  • Ask UAX Admisiones early which Saturday your Medicine specific test falls on: UAX does not publish the dates, so how many weeks you have depends on that answer.
  • Prioritise the Biology headings with the widest question surface (cell organisation, cell physiology, genetics and evolution, animal function, and immunology) over the narrower ones.
  • In Chemistry, secure quantitative work and carbon chemistry first; those two headings carry the most askable content of the five.
  • Confirm the practical details with UAX Admisiones before booking: the options per question, whether wrong answers are penalised, and whether a calculator is allowed. None of the three is published, and all three change how you should sit it.

FAQ

UAX Admission Test frequently asked questions

It's the prueba específica de Biología y Química that Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio sets for its Grado en Medicina: an online proctored test with an estimated duration of 30 minutes, sat in Spanish through the UAX Admissions Portal. It is worth 20% of a composite admission mark out of 10, alongside your academic record at 70%, a competence test at 5% and a language test at 5%.

No. There is no shared national admission test among Spain's private medical schools: each writes and grades its own. UAX's is distinctive even within that group for how short it is and for how much of the decision sits outside it: the specific science test is 20% of the mark, while the first-year Bachillerato record alone is 70%.

The specific Biology and Chemistry test is a 'Test online supervisado': an online proctored test taken through the UAX Admissions Portal. It is an additional 30 minutes on top of the general admission tests (the TCAP competence test and the language test, roughly an hour and a half between them), which may be taken either online or in person at the Villanueva de la Cañada or Chamberí campus.

Spanish. Both the Grado en Medicina and the prueba específica are delivered in Spanish. Candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish sit a Spanish language test worth 5% of the mark; the 2026/27 Guía sets no minimum level for Medicine, where the 2025/26 edition required B1. The IvyTest study guide and simulator questions for UAX are in Spanish too; on this page the official content headings are reproduced in Spanish exactly as UAX publishes them.

50 questions: UAX's own Grado en Medicina page describes a multiple-choice test of 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions (the Guía gives only the 30-minute duration). The scoring is not published: no option count and no marking scheme, so IvyTest records one mark for a correct answer and nothing for a wrong one as a neutral working assumption. Re-checked on 28 September 2026 against both Guía editions and the live uax.com pages.

None is published: no nota de corte, no minimum for the specific test and none for the overall admission mark; UAX's general FAQ says many of its degrees apply no cut-off, while some programmes have their own processes. There is also no per-subject floor and no Spanish counterpart to the Italian OFA additional learning requirement. What UAX does publish is the weighting and a figure of 170 minimum places on the Bachillerato route.

At most 2.00 of the 10 admission points, since it carries 20%. Concretely: raising your score on the test from 7.0/10 to 9.0/10 raises the admission mark by 0.40 points. For comparison, one full grade point on your first-year Bachillerato average is worth 0.70 admission points, roughly equivalent to 35 percentage points of accuracy on the science test. The test is the largest piece still in your control, but the academic record is the larger piece overall.

UAX publishes no exam date: the general tests run Monday to Friday at 10:00 and 16:00 in person (or online, booked at least 48 hours ahead), and UAX's access page says the Medicine specific test is moved to set Saturdays, without publishing them. Medicine places are allocated by ranking, with the definitive list on 31 July in 2026/27; no 2027/28 Guía was out on 10 October 2026, so confirm the date with UAX Admisiones.

UAX's official list gives five Chemistry headings: scientific practice, quantitative chemistry, chemical reactions, energy transformations and spontaneity, and carbon chemistry. It carries no heading at all for atomic structure, the periodic table or chemical bonding: a genuine gap in the published list, even though questions on the listed headings plainly rest on that material. Revise it as the foundation beneath the official headings rather than expecting a question labelled as bonding.

UAX's Guía publishes 170 minimum places on the Bachillerato route (its Medicine page says 240) but no applicant volume and no historical admission mark that secured a place, so any acceptance rate quoted elsewhere is an estimate rather than a university figure. The weighting is the more actionable number: compute your own composite mark with your real academic record and see what margin the tests need to create.

Within the EU, yes: automatically, as a standard Spanish medical degree from an accredited programme. Practising as a specialist in Spain additionally requires passing the MIR (Médico Interno Residente), Spain's mandatory national exam for entry into residency training, run by the Ministerio de Sanidad each autumn; that governs residency access within Spain and sits alongside, not instead of, EU recognition. Outside the EU recognition isn't automatic as a rule, but the UK is an exception. Under the Medical Act 1983 (section 21B, as in force on 12 October 2026), a Spanish medical degree is a 'relevant European qualification', so a graduate who applies to the GMC with one, whatever their nationality, is not asked to show the knowledge and skills other international graduates prove through PLAB/UKMLA; evidence of English is still required, and the rule is UK policy that can change. US-bound graduates need ECFMG certification via USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, the same requirement every international medical graduate faces.

Yes, with one honest caveat. The IvyTest simulator runs practice across both UAX subjects, mapped to the ten Biology and five Chemistry headings the Guía publishes, in timed, tutor and review modes, with a free diagnostic available without payment. Because UAX publishes no option count or marking scheme, that practice is built to the official syllabus, the 50 questions and the 30-minute duration rather than to a fully confirmed paper format.

No. UAX publishes no sample paper, past paper or answer key for the Medicine specific test: the 2026/27 Guía lists only the ten Biology and five Chemistry content headings, and its Medicine pages give only the split of 30 Biology and 20 Chemistry questions. The 'Modelos de Examen' PDFs on UAX's over-25 access page belong to that separate access test. The practice questions on this page are IvyTest's own.

The 2026/27 Guía gives at least 170 places on the Bachillerato routes plus up to 10 on vocational and university routes, while UAX's Madrid Medicine page says 240 new-entry places, the figure the Ministry's register of the degree (RUCT) records for Madrid. For Oviedo the register records 120 first-year places, under a modification in effect from 18 June 2026; UAX's Oviedo page gives no figure and still calls the degree at the Centro Universitario Alfonso X el Sabio Asturias (Decreto 110/2025) 'en proceso de modificación' for 2026/27, with the same specific test and interview.

In Villanueva de la Cañada, on UAX's Madrid campus (Avenida de la Universidad 1), and in Oviedo: UAX's Medicine page lists both campuses. Medicine is not among the health degrees UAX lists for Málaga, which are Biomedicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition, Dentistry and double degrees. The general admission tests can be sat in person in Villanueva de la Cañada or Chamberí; the specific test is online.

€24,250 for the first year in 2026/27: a €3,000 place reservation, €1,350 enrolment and 10 monthly payments of €1,990; the schedule names no campus. The Guía sets the admission tests at €150 for Medicine (UAX's access page says €125). UAX's excellence scholarships exclude Medicine; it lists Comunidad de Madrid and Ministry grants, a 5% family aid, 2% for early payment and 20-50% for elite athletes.

Six years and 360 ECTS, with 1,680 hours of practical training. A new 2026 plan, still being approved according to UAX, starts with first year in 2026/27 and replaces the 2009 plan year by year until 2031/32. First-year subjects: Morphology, structure and function of organs and systems I and II, Biology, Biochemistry I, Statistics, Bioethics, Genetics, Immunology and History of Medicine. Sixth year is mostly Clinical Practice III (36 ECTS) and the final project.

IvyTest collects no student reviews, so this is what UAX itself states, checked where it could be: UAX says ConSalud places it among the top 5 Spanish universities to study Medicine (2024) and first among private universities where the best doctors are trained. The two ConSalud articles UAX links, both of 13 May 2025, are editorial lists without scores: one puts UAX 4th of the 5 Spanish universities it names, the other 2nd of 5 private ones, after Navarra; neither calls it first among private universities. UAX also reports a 96% pass rate in the MIR exam for its preparation programme and says more than 90% of the over 400 doctors it has trained are doing a MIR specialty. The student comments on its pages are its own selection.

The 2026/27 Guía accepts the over-25 access test as an access route in general (its certificate was due by 30 June 2026), and the Ministry's register of the Medicine degree (RUCT) lists the over-25 and over-45 access tests among the degree's access routes. The Guía's Medicine places table, though, lists only the Bachillerato routes and the vocational, university and transfer routes, so it names no places for them. UAX runs a preparatory course for the over-25 test and publishes model exams for it, a different exam from the Medicine specific test. Confirm with UAX Admisiones before applying.
